Apple is quietly creating artificial intelligence software that could rival that of OpenAI, Google, and Microsoft. However, the business has not yet created a detailed plan for making the technology accessible to customers. According to reports, the new AI chatbot is called “Apple GPT.”

Those with knowledge of the programs claim that the maker of the iPhone has created its own framework for creating large-scale language models, the AI-based platforms at the heart of recent products like ChatGPT and Google’s Bard. On the basis of “Ajax,” Apple has also created a chatbot service referred to by some engineers as “Apple GPT.”

The chatbot’s internal distribution was briefly put on hold due to concerns over generative AI security, but it has now been made available to more Apple employees. Employees now have more access to the chatbot, but access still needs special permission. Any output from the chatbot could not be used to develop features geared at users, according to Mark Gurman of Blomberg.

Apple staff members are using the chatbot to help with product prototyping. The chatbot can be used to summarize material and deliver responses to inquiries based on the data it was trained with.

Can Apple GPT change the AI chatbot game?

Apple is statistically the biggest technology company in the world. This means that anything they do or any new step they take will have a huge impact on the ecosystem. It is both because of Apple’s incredibly loyal and huge fan base and economic power.

The company recently announced its new VR Headset and made a “bomb” effect on social media. Apple is surely very successful, hence the popularity, but if it was a different company announcing the same specs, would it make that much of a sound in the media? Well, the answer is definitely up in the air.

This means that whatever Apple does goes viral, and people get in line to try their new technology before anyone else. So the new AI chatbot of the company is also expected to have a similar impact.

Apple GPT will be similar to other AI chatbots

The company’s chatbot is similar to Bard, ChatGPT, and Bing AI because it doesn’t have any additional features that distinguish it from what is already available on the market.

The information is released at a time when Apple is looking for generative AI expertise. The company displays a few job positions on its careers page for experts in generative AI. The company is looking for engineers with a “robust understanding of large language models and generative AI.”

Apple barred employees from using ChatGPT internally and from using the Microsoft-owned GitHub Copilot, an AI code-writing tool, early this year, according to private papers obtained by The Wall Street Journal. Sources told The Journal that Apple was thinking of creating generative AI, which is presumably Ajax. 2020 saw Apple purchase two AI companies for $200 million and $50 million, respectively.

Possible impacts of Apple GPT

The technology industry eagerly anticipates the seismic changes that Apple’s ground-breaking generative AI chatbot, “Apple GPT,” may bring. Apple GPT has the ability to alter how we interact with AI by strengthening Apple’s ecosystem, enhancing user experience, and fostering healthy industry rivalry.

Let’s take a look at what could Apple GPT change if it goes live and starts its competition with other AI chatbots.

Does ChatGPT take your money but still go down? Check these fixes

Enhanced user experience

Apple wants to take the level of user experience it offers to new heights by foraying into the generative AI chatbot market. Users should anticipate more contextually informed and intuitive chats now that Apple GPT is available to them.

The chatbot will be able to modify responses to suit each user’s demands by analyzing previous user interactions and preferences. With improved customer loyalty and increased customer happiness as a result of this individualized strategy, Apple’s overall product sales may increase.

Strengthening Apple’s Ecosystem

The strategic integration of Apple GPT with the Apple ecosystem can strengthen the company’s grasp on its user base. Users may find themselves more reliant on Apple products as the chatbot becomes a standard feature of many Apple gadgets, providing a seamless AI experience.

This connected ecosystem might also entice new clients to join the Apple community, enhancing Apple’s market position and possibly growing its user base.

Competing in the AI arena

Apple’s entry into the market for generative AI chatbots sends a strong message to its rivals. Other businesses in the sector may feel more pressure to innovate and improve their offers in order to remain competitive as a result of the tech giant entering the AI chatbot race.

This healthy rivalry may spur improvements in AI technology and lead to more advanced and effective chatbots everywhere, which would be advantageous to users and the industry at large.

How Apple’s entry could benefit other companies

Other businesses in the sector might gain from Apple’s foray into the generative AI chatbot market. First, the entry of Apple may open up new channels for cooperation.

Apple, for instance, might collaborate with other businesses to develop chatbots that are integrated with their goods and services. Second, Apple’s participation might increase interest in the market for generative AI chatbots.

This might encourage additional market investment by other businesses. Third, Apple’s participation may raise the bar for chatbots that use generative AI. This might encourage other businesses to boost the caliber of their chatbots.

Overall, it is obvious that Apple’s entry into the market for generative AI chatbots may have a big impact on the sector. Apple may have an advantage over its rivals due to its assets, including its enormous user base, emphasis on privacy and security, and proficiency in user experience design.

Apple’s participation may potentially result in greater competition, reduced costs, and new features and functionalities for chatbots using generative AI. Apple’s entrance might also foster new chances for cooperation and increase awareness of the market for generative AI chatbots.
