Only 6% of desk workers in Singapore utilize artificial intelligence (AI) as a core part of their daily tasks, according to a YouGov survey commissioned by Salesforce. This figure falls below the global average of 11% and indicates a significant level of hesitance towards AI integration among the workforce.
The survey, conducted between December 2025 and January 2026, included over 1,500 desk workers from 14 different markets. It revealed that 29% of Singapore respondents identified themselves as AI sceptics, compared to 37% on a global scale. This scepticism may be linked to the high failure rate of AI pilots in the workplace.
Among those workers in Singapore whose AI initiatives at work were unsuccessful, 40% attributed the failures to generic outputs generated by AI. Additionally, 38% expressed distrust in the responses produced by AI tools, while 30% indicated that the tools lacked the necessary business context.
Deloitte’s previous research highlighted that 67% of employees in Singapore had used generative AI at some point. However, this statistic does not specifically refer to daily usage. Furthermore, 47% of businesses in Singapore reported fully utilizing generative AI.
In response to these findings, Singapore has announced new measures aimed at enhancing AI workforce and governance as part of its National AI Strategy 2.0. This includes an expanded SkillsFuture for Digital Workplace 2.0, which features generative AI content, alongside a playbook designed for enterprises to better integrate AI solutions.
