New information from China’s 3C database reveals updated battery capacities for the upcoming Apple iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max models. The iPhone 18 Pro Max’s eSIM version is set to feature a 5,567 mAh battery, while the physical SIM tray model will have a 5,391 mAh battery.
The reports indicate that Apple typically markets eSIM-only versions of its iPhones in the United States. In contrast, regions like China receive models equipped with a physical SIM tray. The newly confirmed capacities represent significant improvements compared to their predecessors.
If the figures from the 3C database are accurate, the eSIM-only iPhone 18 Pro Max will provide a 479 mAh increase over the iPhone 17 Pro Max, with the physical SIM model seeing a 568 mAh rise in capacity. The iPhone 18 Pro’s eSIM model will include a 4,288 mAh battery, compared to the 4,056 mAh battery in the physical SIM version.
For context, the iPhone 17 Pro’s eSIM model had a 4,252 mAh battery, while the physical variant had a 3,998 mAh capacity. The transitions in battery specifications illustrate a continued effort by Apple to enhance device performance in its upcoming smartphone lineup.
