Anthropic has updated its Claude app, enabling users to manage Claude Cowork from their mobile devices on Android and iOS. This feature allows users to monitor Cowork’s activities on their home computers but does not permit automation of tasks on their phones.
The new Cowork tab can be accessed in the sidebar of the updated app. Users will receive notifications on their phones when Claude needs permission to complete a task, ensuring nothing is executed without their review. “Nothing ships until you’ve reviewed and approved it,” said Anthropic.
This update also enhances Claude Cowork’s capabilities, allowing it to run tasks in the background, which previously required a stable internet connection. The mobile integration is currently available first to Max subscribers, with plans to extend this feature to other subscription tiers in the coming weeks.
Looking ahead, Anthropic aims to unify Cowork with its chatbot, enabling users to converse with Claude and assign computer-related tasks from a single interface. This change will initially be rolled out on Claude’s web client and desktop app.
The company plans to introduce “projects” and “artifacts” as well. Projects will allow users to organize chats and files by topic, while artifacts are small apps and games that Claude can create for users. Anthropic seeks to enhance user engagement with these features.
