The June Android Drop introduces several new personalization and safety features for users, building on a prior announcement of updates that included Gemini Intelligence. Users can now utilize a fake call detection feature in Phone by Google, which will alert them to suspected scammers impersonating their contacts. This feature is available on devices running Android 12 and above.

Another new feature, Circle to Search, allows users to find complete outfits by circling them within photos without needing to switch apps. This capability will be available on all Android 14 devices. Google Photos is also launching a digital wardrobe feature that catalogs clothing from users’ photo libraries, set to roll out next week for eligible users in the U.S., India, and Brazil with devices running Android 10 or later.

Furthermore, the Personal Safety app will introduce features for children under 13. These include the ability to display medical information, set emergency contacts, and enable car crash detection, which automatically calls emergency services after an accident. The Personal Safety app will be available globally.

Enhancements in Google Play Books will provide users with recaps of previously read material and allow them to ask questions about themes and characters while reading select English titles. This feature starts rolling out today.

The Quick Share functionality now works with AirDrop, facilitating file sharing between Android devices and iPhones without needing an internet connection. This enables users to share photos, videos, and documents seamlessly across platforms.

Additionally, the Emoji Kitchen feature will introduce new combinations, allowing users to create and send custom emoji mixes via Gboard. More features and updates are anticipated with the upcoming Android 17 release.
