Samsung’s Exynos 2700, designated S5E9975, is set to power the upcoming Galaxy S27 and S27 Plus, appearing in recent Geekbench listings.
The Exynos 2700 features a 10-core CPU utilizing ARMv8 architecture, with the highest-performance cores operating at 2.88GHz, while efficiency cores clock in between 2.3GHz and 2.4GHz. Initial performance benchmarks reveal a score of 2,603 in single-core tests and 10,350 in multi-core tests, which are considered below expectations, as they are derived from an engineering sample.
An OpenCL test indicates that the chipset includes an Xclipse 970 GPU, which achieved a score of 15,618. Reports suggest that the Xclipse 970 has been developed entirely in-house by Samsung, without any collaboration with AMD.
The Exynos 2700 is anticipated to be manufactured on a refined 2nm process node (SF2P), which is rumored to deliver a 12% performance enhancement and a 25% reduction in power consumption compared to its predecessor, the Exynos 2600.
Samsung acknowledged the potential variances in performance metrics, indicating that the 2.88GHz clock speed reported may not be representative of the final version. A sentiment has emerged among industry observers regarding Samsung’s competitive positioning, expressing hope that the company succeeds in bridging the performance gap with rivals, despite lingering doubts.
