Johannes Starlinger

Johannes is an MD and computer science PhD doing research at the
Department of Anesthesiology and Operative Intensive Care Medicine at
Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin and the research group for
Knowledge Management in Bioinformatics at the Department of Computer
Science at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. His work focus is on
knowledge mining and representation, similarity search, and predictive
analytics over data relevant to the biomedical domain, including genomic
and clinical data. Johannes currently leads and contributes to a number
of highly interdisciplinary projects with the shared goal of improving
patient care. These projects range from the development of tools in
support of genome-based precision oncology to prediction of dementia
from general practice patient records, and decision support for clinical
patient care pathways extracted from electronic medical records.
Johannes' freelance alter ego enjoys applying his skill set in selected
projects targeting the utilization of health data outside strictly
research oriented environments.
