Airbnb announced the expansion of its services feature to include car pickups in 125 cities worldwide. The company is partnering with Welcome Pickups to provide private car services in major cities like Paris, Bali, and Mexico City.
This expansion follows a successful pilot program in Europe and Asia this year, where “thousands of guests” participated, achieving an average satisfaction rating of 4.96. After booking a stay in a participating city, users can schedule a private cab through the Trips tab of the Airbnb app, allowing them to view and modify their cab reservation details directly in the app.
“Airbnb Services are designed to enhance a guest’s stay, and our partnership with Welcome Pickups delivers that from the moment they arrive,” said Dave Stephenson, Airbnb’s chief business officer. The company plans to further expand the car pickup service to additional cities throughout the year.
Airbnb initially launched its services category last summer alongside an expansion into experiences. At that time, it offered 10 categories including chefs, catering, photography, massages, and makeup across eight countries. In November, Airbnb announced a partnership with Instacart to enable guests to order groceries in select U.S. cities before and during their stay.
The introduction of the car pickup feature aligns with Airbnb’s strategy to provide a comprehensive range of service offerings. Additionally, the company is exploring the option of allowing users to book hotel rooms. During the Q4 2025 earnings call, CEO Brian Chesky noted that the hotel opportunity is significant and will integrate into users’ trip experiences, accommodating various types of stays.
