Apple plans to refresh the entry-level MacBook Pro with a new design and updated features in the first half of 2027, according to a report by Mark Gurman in Bloomberg. The 14-inch laptop will align visually with higher-end models, which are expected to be announced starting in the fall of 2026. Gurman indicates that this update may introduce Apple’s first touchscreen MacBook, previously rumored to be part of the M6 generation.
In addition to the new MacBook, Apple is testing four new iPad Pro models. While details on the updated tablets remain limited, sources stated that the focus will be on performance enhancements while maintaining the current 11-inch and 13-inch sizes.
Spring has become a significant period for Apple to unveil entry-level and budget products, sometimes surprising the market. In spring 2026, Apple announced the MacBook Neo along with a new iPhone, several iPads, and MacBook Pros in a single week. Spring 2027 is anticipated to be similarly busy, with expectations of the base model of the iPhone 18 and an updated iPhone Air. There are also indications that Apple may skip to M7 silicon, moving away from the Pro and Max naming conventions.
