Instagram has launched a feature that allows users to add unique captions to each slide in a carousel. Previously, all slides within a carousel shared the same caption, limiting storytelling potential.
This new option is accessible via a toggle in the caption area, where users can choose to create multiple captions if they wish. The rollout of the feature is ongoing, and it may take about a week for all Instagram users to gain access.
This update comes after a previous enhancement that doubled the number of photos permitted in a carousel from 10 to 20. Users can now mix up to 20 photos with 20 individual captions, which should increase content variety.
Instagram has also made several other updates recently. The in-app camera now supports Ultra HDR and Night Sight features for Android devices. Additionally, users can personalize the algorithm and reorder posts displayed on their grid.
