Anthropic has filed paperwork with the SEC to go public, confirming the submission of a confidential draft version of its S-1 form. The company, known for its AI assistant Claude, stated on Monday that it has not yet set a price for its offering or determined the number of shares to be made available. The confidential submission suggests Anthropic could go public later this year.
Anthropic’s IPO is expected to be one of the largest to date, following SpaceX, which is anticipated to hold its IPO this month. Additionally, OpenAI may also seek to go public within the next few months.
Last month, reports indicated that Anthropic was projected to achieve its first profitable quarter by the end of June, forecasting an operating profit of $559 million on revenues of $10.9 billion. Just last week, the company announced the closure of its latest funding round, which totaled $65 billion, bringing its valuation to $965 billion.
