Anthropic has launched a new feature named “Teach Claude a skill,” enabling users to record their screen and narrate a task for Claude to learn and reuse later. This update aims to reduce repetitive prompting from users, enhancing Claude’s ability to manage recurring tasks like reports, spreadsheets, and file organization.
New in Claude Cowork: teach Claude a skill.
Record your screen while you do a task, talk through it as you go, and Claude turns it into a skill it can run again. Find it under Record a skill in the + menu of the Claude desktop app.

The feature is currently rolling out to subscribers of Claude Pro, Max, and Team through the Cowork interface in the Claude desktop app. Instead of repeatedly explaining a task, users can simply demonstrate it, allowing Claude to learn the workflow more efficiently.
Previously, training AI on specific tasks often required extensive instructions or document uploads, leading to mistakes in execution. With the new feature, Claude can watch the entire process during the recording, creating a reusable skill for future tasks.
