Google has announced the rollout of a redesigned version of its chatbot, Gemini, on Android and iOS, featuring a new interface and several updated functionalities. The redesign includes a new design language called “Neural Expressive,” which enhances the user experience with improved typography, fluid animations, and haptic feedback. Additionally, Gemini Live has been integrated into the core Gemini interface.
Users can now engage in spoken conversations by tapping the Live button, while the new design allows for effortless switching between typing and talking. The update also introduces regional dialects, and responses from Gemini will include images, graphics, and narrated videos, moving away from text-heavy replies. The revamped chatbot is currently being rolled out globally.
A new AI agent named Daily Brief is now available, providing users with summaries of their activities by gathering information from connected apps such as Gmail and Calendar. Daily Brief can prioritize tasks based on user goals and suggest next steps while allowing users to train the agent with thumbs up or down on its responses. This feature is launching today in the U.S. for Google AI Plus, Pro, and Ultra subscribers.

Google has also introduced a new model called Gemini Omni, which generates video content by combining text prompts, images, and videos uploaded by users. This model enables users to alter video backgrounds, apply effects, and use templates for their outputs. Furthermore, it can create a personalized avatar for users to insert into videos. Gemini Omni is available today for Google AI Plus, Pro, and Ultra subscribers.
Another new agent, Gemini Spark, described as a “24/7 personal AI agent,” operates on Gemini 3.5 and integrates with Workspace apps like Gmail, Docs, and Slides. Spark can link with other applications, including Canva, OpenTable, and Instacart, to perform recurring tasks and create complete workflows. This includes generating reports and drafting emails based on information from various sources. Gemini Spark is currently being tested, with plans for a rollout to Google AI Ultra beta subscribers in the U.S. this week.
Google plans to make Spark available on the Gemini app for macOS this summer, introducing new voice functionalities that allow the app to convert spoken language into precise drafts for reports or emails, even accounting for filler words and expressions.
