Samsung’s Galaxy S25 smartphone family outsold the Galaxy S24 series, according to a new report from Counterpoint Research. The analysis compared sales data from February to December for both product lines within their respective release years. The report details specific growth figures for the overall series and its individual models during this period.

The Galaxy S25 devices achieved a 5% increase in sales compared to the Galaxy S24 phones for the February-to-December timeframe. The performance was stronger for the premium tier, as the Galaxy S25 Ultra specifically sold 7% more units than the Galaxy S24 Ultra. These figures indicate a positive trajectory for the latest generation.

Sales trajectories for the two series differed during the first quarter. The Galaxy S25 family initially recorded lower sales than the Galaxy S24 devices in February. The figures matched in March, after which the S25 family maintained sales above the S24 series through the end of December.

The Galaxy S25 Ultra demonstrated sustained demand during the year. Counterpoint Research noted the model experienced month-over-month sales increases in July and October. The device concluded the year ranked within the Top 10 best-selling smartphones of 2025.

The Ultra model remains the dominant device within Samsung’s flagship lineup. The Galaxy S24 Ultra accounted for 45% of its family’s total sales, while the Galaxy S25 Ultra represented 46%. The base S25 model held a 35% share, compared to the base S24’s 36%.

The Plus models maintained consistent market share within their respective families. Both the Galaxy S24+ and the Galaxy S25+ represented 19% of the total sales for their series. This distribution shows a stable performance for the mid-tier option across both generations.
