IKEA has officially announced a new range of 21 Matter-compatible smart home products, expanding its lineup with new lighting, sensors, and remote controls. This rollout will include updates to existing products to make them compatible with the open-source Matter standard, as well as entirely new devices.
The new lighting products include 11 smart bulbs under the KAJPLATS range, which will be available in various shapes and sizes with dimming functionality.
The company is also releasing five new smart sensors. These include the MYGGSPRAY indoor/outdoor motion sensor for lights and the MYGGBETT, which sends a notification when a door or window is opened or closed. Other sensors are focused on home safety and environment: the TIMMERFLOTTE monitors temperature and humidity, the ALPSTUGA is an air quality sensor, and the KLIPPBOK is a water leakage sensor.
Finally, the new control devices include the GRILLPLATS smart plug, which can make regular lamps and appliances smart and also tracks energy usage. There are also four products in the BILRESA remote control range, including a dual-button remote for lights and scenes, and a separate remote control with a scroll wheel for dimming.
IKEA did not provide exact pricing or a specific release date, stating that availability might vary by market. However, a teaser for these products in July suggested they would become available in January 2026. This launch follows the 2022 release of IKEA’s DIRIGERA smart hub and the dissolution of its partnership with Sonos earlier this year.
