Pearson and Amazon Web Services (AWS) have announced an expanded collaboration aimed at scaling AI-powered personalized learning and workforce training globally. The partnership will leverage AWS’s cloud infrastructure and AI capabilities, including Amazon Bedrock, to enhance Pearson’s education technology, particularly in higher education.

Pearson, which provides digital learning products to students worldwide, will increase its use of AWS cloud services to improve personalized learning, real-time insights, and accessibility. Many of Pearson’s higher education platforms already run on AWS, and the company plans to integrate Amazon Bedrock to refine its courseware, automate lesson generation, and provide AI-powered assessments.

“Technology is transforming how people learn, and with the help of AWS, we can accelerate personalized learning at scale,” Pearson CEO Omar Abbosh said. “Together, we can reach more learners and provide them with the tools they need to succeed.”

AWS CEO Matt Garman described the collaboration as a step toward “unlocking the power of cloud and AI for learners around the world.”

Workforce training and digital credentials

The partnership will also focus on enterprise learning and workforce training, with Pearson expanding its credentialing programs. AWS and Amazon already work with GEDWorks and Credly by Pearson, supporting employer-sponsored education and digital certifications. Pearson VUE, which delivers AWS certifications, will continue to help train cloud professionals, while both companies explore new initiatives in professional assessments and enterprise learning.

AWS and Pearson’s collaboration comes as AI-driven education solutions gain traction, helping learners adapt to shifting workforce demands. The partnership aims to close skill gaps, improve learning efficiency, and expand AI accessibility in education.
