Beginning of the path: Working at Kazakhstan’s largest airport
The process of organizing airport operations was incredibly interesting and at the same time required many skills. During his time working at Almaty International Airport, Zhandos Azhigenov gained experience in different roles and demonstrated outstanding logistical and organizational skills.
His responsibilities included documentation work, such as processing accompanying documents for cargo or assigning summary declaration numbers. He participated in customs inspections, coordinated the work of staff, and cooperated with customs officials.
As a supervisor at Almaty International Airport, Zhandos implemented new standards of cargo treatment and schedule management, raising the airport’s international image and improving relations with aviation partners.
All of this taught him to quickly deal with any tasks and crisis situations, to work carefully with documents, and to communicate with people effectively.
After a successful experience in the aviation industry, Zhandos founded his own company Asia Contract, which became an important market maker. He has brought innovation and extraordinary management solutions to various industries such as interior design, construction and trucking.
Establishing and managing his own company: Development of the construction industry in Kazakhstan
While working at the airport in 2016, Azhigenov showed his ambitions and accumulated experience to found and manage his own company — Asia Contract. The company focused on development in several fields at once: interior design, construction and installation works, buildings modernization, IT, trade and logistics.
During this time, the company has сarried out many projects, including large projects that had a significant impact on the country’s business. For example, for three years, Asia Contract has successfully partnered with ART MIX LLP, a leading company in Kazakhstan’s beauty industry, providing a full range of services including interior design, construction and trucking. The company had a key role in opening new ART MIX commercial establishments, providing high quality services.
There has also been a long-term cooperation with Dastan LLP, where the company has made a significant impact in improving the interior design and ergonomics of Dastan’s 5-star hotels. Smart technologies used by Asia Contract have enhanced the comfort and reputation of the hotels, helping them to strengthen their position as one of the most prestigious hotel operators in Kazakhstan.
Zhandos Azhigenov successfully manages his company, keeping it a local leader in construction industry, as well as securing its reputation as a reliable contractor and performer. He has demonstrated unique management and business skills that have not only made him a professional success, but also had a positive impact on the local economy.
Advice for aspiring entrepreneurs
Both aspiring and experienced entrepreneurs should always be flexible: changes have become a constant companion not only for business, but also for all modern life. That’s why it is important to be able to adapt to any market condition.

At first it seems impossible, but over time, through experience and knowledge, you can develop what most people call “entrepreneurial flair” or intuition. Especially valuable is the diverse experience that can be gained by working in different companies. This is confirmed by Zhandos’ own career path: before starting his own company, he achieved a lot by working at a large airport and then in the construction industry.
