Elena Poughia – Managing Director
Elena is the Managing Director of Dataconomy Media GmbH and the Founder & Head Curator of Data Natives, Europe’s largest data science conference. She has a multi disciplinary background with studies in Economics and Modern and Contemporary Art from British Universities. She has worked for established galleries and pioneering institutions and co-founded an Art Events Company (2012)and an Independent Art Publication (2014) before moving to work for Dataconomy. She is particularly committed to supporting women by helping them become established in tech professions.
Julia Neuman – Editor
Julia has worked as a journalist, content manager, and researcher in a variety of settings, ranging from US media companies to Berlin startups. She holds a B.A. in Anthropology from the University of California, Los Angeles, and is passionate about exploring entrepreneurship in different regions of the world.
Maya Lumbroso – COO
Maya has lived in many different countries throughout the world including Israel, Hong Kong, Belgium, Holland, Australia, Spain and the UK, enabling her to adapt easily to different cultures and mentalities. She has been involved with a broad range of events and has worked extensively in Sales and Marketing. She holds a BA in Business Management and Marketing from the IDC in Israel.
Rafael Palomino – Business Development
Rafael is an avid dancer with a passion for crossing things off his lists. Having lived in various countries, he has now decided to make Berlin a home. In the past, he has worked for international law firm Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer and for the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ). He holds a BA in Sociology from Princeton University, an MPP from the Hertie School of Governance and an MPA from Sciences Po.
Eva – Events & Community Management
Eva is Dataconomy’s official events manager – advising on key strategic decisions for online marketing and conference coordination on a daily basis. With a BA in Psychology and Communications from the University of Gloucestershire, she has worked extensively in the world of PR and marketing on behalf of tech startups in Athens and big events in Berlin. Eva is also avidly involved in music and the arts and has assisted on an array of unique installation projects in her spare time.
Kathleen – Digital Marketing
Kathleen is a creative thinker who is passionate about Design Thinking. She uses human-centered design technology and empathy to solve problems that affect products and services. She is also a Digital Marketing Professional who drives company growth through creative and innovative marketing strategies. She is passionate about building strong brands and implementing and managing social / new media campaigns.
Brittany Russell – Contributing Writer
Brittany was born in Virginia Beach, Virginia, and is currently working on her bachelor’s in Political Science at Gettysburg College. She has worked for her college’s newspaper and radio station, where she is music director. She likes dogs, news, travelling, and terrible puns.
Kyra Harris – Events Coordinator
Kyra has lived and traveled across the world developing different cultural perspectives. She holds a degree in Psychology while undergoing a BA in Sociology at Morgan State University. Kyra does humanities work in Washington, DC and teaches children as a DoD employee. Kyra is currently studying Business and Marketing in Berlin, Germany. With a passion for poetry and the arts, she is very diverse in multicultural communication.
Hannah Augur – Contributing Writer
Hannah is a writer, editor and nerd based in Berlin. She’s a researcher with knowledge and work in a variety of fields, including 3D printing, fantasy video games and even coffee manufacturing.
Nick Rubino – Contributing Writer
Nick worked in the e-commerce industry as well as in the area of IT-research while attending the University of Bamberg for Information Systems Management. He is currently an Account Manager at Productsup GmbH.
