Chevrolet has unveiled the 2027 Bolt, an electric vehicle scheduled to launch in early 2026 featuring a new battery. It is being marketed as the most affordable electric vehicle announced in America, part of a broader General Motors strategy.

The vehicle’s pricing structure is central to its market positioning. The base LT trim will have a starting price of $28,995, a figure that includes an approximate $1,000 destination fee. An LT comfort package will be offered at $29,990, and a higher-tier RS trim is set at about $32,000. With this pricing, the 2027 Bolt is expected to have the most range among electric vehicles available for under $30,000, strengthening Chevrolet’s presence in the affordable EV sector alongside the Equinox EV.

A notable technology upgrade is the available SuperCruise driver-assist system, a feature previously limited to Cadillac models. This system is equipped with a route-following function that can manage lane changes and navigate highway interchanges. The interior has also been refreshed to include a larger display, ambient lighting, additional dash storage, and configurable cupholders. For climate control, the vehicle retains physical knobs for volume and HVAC functions and incorporates a heat pump for more efficient heating in winter.

In terms of practicality, the new Bolt offers unchanged cargo capacity from the previous Bolt EUV model. It provides 16 cubic feet of storage with the rear seats in place and 57 cubic feet with the seats folded down. This cargo volume matches that of the larger Chevrolet Equinox EV. The 2027 Bolt will be produced in a limited run and is a component of GM’s larger strategic initiative to expand its portfolio of affordable electric vehicles.
