Samsung announced the launch of its Galaxy credit card, offering enhanced cash rewards for purchases made directly through the company. The card will be available starting July 22, coinciding with Samsung’s Unpacked event.
Users will earn a five percent cash reward on eligible purchases made directly with Samsung. For instance, purchasing the entry-level Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7, priced at $1,500, will yield a $75 cash reward. Additionally, cardholders can earn a $200 cash reward if they spend $2,000 within the first 90 days of opening their account, effectively a ten percent return on that spending.
Other cash rewards include three percent for purchases made with Samsung Wallet and two percent for streaming service payments. All other purchases will return one percent cash back. The card also features a 20 percent discount on Samsung’s VIP Advantage loyalty and warranty platform.
Applications for the card will be accepted online or at Samsung retail stores beginning on the launch date. Samsung’s Unpacked presentation will commence at 9 AM ET on July 22, where the company is expected to unveil additional products and innovations.
Samsung’s entry into the credit card market adds to a growing trend among tech companies, with the Apple Card and various Amazon-branded credit cards already established in the sector.
