The next Samsung Galaxy Unpacked event will take place on July 22 in London, where the company is expected to launch an updated family of foldables, including two versions of the Galaxy Z Fold 8. Samsung has confirmed it will showcase its latest Galaxy innovations, focusing on its leadership in foldable devices.
While specific details remain limited, two to three new phones are anticipated at the event. Among the expected devices is the Galaxy Z Flip 8, which is likely to feature a reworked hinge, improved performance, and a lighter chassis. However, significant redesigns may be constrained by a global RAM shortage, limiting more substantial upgrades.
The rumored Galaxy Z Fold 8 is expected to have a wider main display, improving the aspect ratio when open, though it may only include two rear cameras instead of three to reduce costs. Additionally, a new top-tier model, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, is anticipated to boast display technology that minimizes crease visibility, alongside an updated processor and three rear cameras.
Samsung’s plans to introduce two different versions of the Galaxy Z Fold 8 at the same event represent a first for the brand. The company has hinted at a new phone design featuring a wider format through social media teasers.
Potential appearances at the event may also include the Galaxy Watch 9, Galaxy Watch Ultra 2, or Samsung’s upcoming Android XR glasses. However, full reveals for these products may be postponed until the fall.
Samsung is currently accepting reservations for the products ahead of the Galaxy Unpacked event, offering a $30 credit for pre-orders. The event can be viewed live on Samsung.com or Samsung’s YouTube channel at 9 AM ET/6 AM PT on July 22.
