Meta announced a new suite of AI tools designed for Facebook users, featuring photo-editing and question-answering capabilities. The first tool, named AI Mode, functions as a standard chatbot that assists users by answering queries such as recommending nearby summer vacation spots.
AI Mode utilizes data from various Meta applications, including Groups and Reels. The company stated it aims to provide “real perspectives and experience rather than a generic list of search results.” This functionality is powered by Meta’s recently announced Muse Spark technology.
The update also introduces new photo-editing features. These include collage cutout templates that allow users to modify photos from their camera roll. Additionally, users can create stylized video montages with new transition effects, which Meta claims can be done “with just a tap.”

Another highlight is the new photo presets that facilitate changes to clothing, hair, and accessories using AI. This feature targets sports fans by enabling users to virtually wear team jerseys to show their support.
The AI tools are currently being launched for mobile Facebook users, with no information available regarding a web version at this time.
