HarmonyOS 7 Developer Beta 1 is now live following an upgrade to API 26, as announced by Huawei today. The new software version includes several capabilities aimed at improving system functionalities.
The update introduces an expanded suite of system-level services, featuring enhanced interconnectivity, improved networking, and smarter AI functionalities. Developers can utilize this beta version to access these new features, develop applications, adapt their offerings, and provide feedback on the software.
Before upgrading, developers must back up their device data using data cloning, Huawei Assistant, or cloud backup. To enroll in the testing phase, developers must register via the Developer Alliance app or the HarmonyOS Developer website. They are required to fill out the registration information carefully and submit it after verifying its accuracy.
Following submission, the official review process will take 3-5 business days. Results will be communicated through official Huawei email or SMS, and once approved, the developer beta version will be pushed to their device.
“HarmonyOS 7 (API 26) Developer Beta 1 public recruitment event is a testing activity open to developers before the official release of the software,” Huawei stated. “Developers can use this event to get early access to the new version’s capabilities, conduct application development, adaptation, and debugging, and provide feedback on any issues encountered during use.”
