Atlas Menu, a cheat service for the online video game Grand Theft Auto V, has been hacked, impacting nearly 64,000 user accounts, according to data breach notification site Have I Been Pwned. The compromised data includes users’ email addresses, usernames, scrambled passwords, IP addresses, and support tickets.
Atlas Menu claimed to provide “secure authentication and enhanced privacy through our advanced encryption techniques,” but its official website is currently down. The hacker responsible for the breach posted the stolen information on GitHub, reportedly motivated by revenge against a scammer.
The owners of Atlas Menu have not responded to requests for comment regarding the incident. Features offered by Atlas Menu included “invisibility,” “super jump,” and the ability to fly through the game’s map.
The breach exposes users to potential risks, particularly as the business of game cheating has grown into a multimillion-dollar industry, with many players seeking an unfair advantage. This is not the first incident of its nature; a popular cheat service for Counter-Strike: Global Offensive was reportedly hacked several years ago.
