Discord is expanding its Nitro subscription program to include new perks for subscribers, introducing a “starter edition” of Xbox Game Pass. This edition provides access to over 50 console and PC games, including titles like Fallout 4, Stardew Valley, DayZ, Deep Rock Galactic, Overcooked 2, and Grounded.
The Game Pass starter edition includes 10 hours of cloud gaming access per month. In contrast, the Essential tier provides unlimited cloud gaming. Nitro subscribers without an existing Xbox Game Pass subscription can access the starter edition offer.
This offer will initially roll out in 24 countries, including the United States, Canada, Australia, and several European nations. The Xbox Game Pass starter edition is part of Discord’s new Nitro Rewards program, celebrating the 10th anniversary of Nitro. Discord plans to gradually enable these perks for all eligible Nitro subscribers over the next several weeks.
The price of Nitro remains unchanged at $10 per month or $100 per year. Subscribers on the Nitro Basic and Nitro Classic tiers are not eligible for the new rewards. Additional perks for Nitro subscribers include discounts of 30% off Logitech G, 15% off SteelSeries, and 20% off KontrolFreek gear.
Nitro members will have enhanced opportunities to earn Orbs, which can be used for unlocking customizations for their avatar and profile. Separately, Microsoft will start providing benefits to Discord Nitro for Game Pass subscribers beginning in late May. Game Pass subscribers will receive 250 Discord Orbs monthly, along with extra Orbs for completing Quests and discounts in the Discord shop.
