Huawei has plans to unveil a new series of smartwatches, known as the “X series,” expected to launch later in 2026. This development follows the recent release of the company’s new-generation sports wearable. Weibo tipsters reported (via Huawei Central) that Huawei is working on the “X series” and aims for a launch by the end of this year.
The forthcoming smartwatches are reportedly codenamed “supernova” and will be positioned as a flagship lineup in the consumer market. Sources indicate that the series will include two models, the “X1” and “X1 Pro.”
Huawei has used the “X” label for other device categories, including its Mate folding phones and the Pura X clamshell products. While the company has not officially confirmed the details regarding the smartwatch series, the speculation continues to grow.
Following the news, some netizens questioned the necessity of introducing a new smartwatch line given Huawei’s existing range of budget and premium models. Others speculated that the “supernova” series may focus on appealing to a younger demographic with luxurious designs.
Some industry insiders predict that the new smartwatches could offer advanced features, including longer battery life compared to the current Watch 5 model. However, specifics about the “X series” remain largely speculative at this stage. Further details are anticipated as the launch date nears.
