Details and images of Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Glasses have been leaked, with the device expected to compete with Meta’s Ray-Ban glasses, according to Android Headlines. The first generation will not feature a display and is projected to be priced between $379 and $499.
The second generation, codenamed Haean, is anticipated to launch in 2027 with a screen, at a price range of $600 to $900. The glasses will operate on the Android XR platform, which includes support for Gemini.
More information about the Android XR platform is likely to be released at Google I/O next month. Samsung is collaborating with Warby Parker and Gentle Monster for the frames of the Galaxy Glasses.
Powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon AR1 chipset, the glasses will support Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.3. Specifications include a 155 mAh battery, a 12MP camera utilizing the Sony IMX681 sensor, directional speakers, and a weight of approximately 50 grams.
The Galaxy Glasses are expected to be unveiled at Samsung’s summer Unpacked event, likely scheduled for July. This event will also introduce the Galaxy Z Fold8, Galaxy Z Flip8, and Galaxy Z Fold Wide.
