Anthropic has launched new app connectors for its AI assistant, Claude, enabling user integration with personal applications such as Audible, Spotify, Uber, AllTrails, TripAdvisor, Instacart, and TurboTax. This development expands Claude’s previous support for work-related apps, mainly Microsoft applications, to accommodate personal use.
The introduction of these connectors allows Claude to suggest relevant apps during conversations, enhancing user interaction. For instance, users can receive hiking recommendations through AllTrails when engaging with the assistant. Mobile functionality for these connectors is currently in beta, making these features accessible to all Claude users.
Anthropic clarified that data from connected applications will not be used for model training and that those apps cannot access users’ other conversations with Claude. Users retain control over their app connections, with the option to disconnect any app at their discretion.
The company stated, “There are no paid placements or sponsored answers in conversations with Claude.” Furthermore, when users have multiple relevant apps, Claude will display results ranked by usefulness. It will also require user verification before executing actions, such as making purchases or reservations through the connected apps.
All new connectors are available immediately across all Claude plans. Users can browse and add applications by selecting the “connectors” option within the “customize” tab on the Claude sidebar.
