Netflix is updating its iPhone app to include a vertical video discovery feed, set to be released in April. The announcement follows the company’s latest earnings report and aims to enhance user engagement with its expanding entertainment offerings.

This redesign will better reflect our expanding entertainment offering and make it easier for members to engage how and when they want.
Reed Hastings, co-founder and Chairman of Netflix, also announced plans to step down from the board. The company’s strategic moves come alongside the recent launch of a new games app named Netflix Playground, which targets a younger audience with mini-games, competing against Apple Arcade.
This month, Netflix raised prices across all subscription tiers, including its ad-supported option. Earlier, in February, the streaming service withdrew its bid to secure HBO’s content library after a competing bid from Paramount.
The updated app featuring vertical video will be available before the end of April, according to Netflix. The company aims to adapt to current user preferences and enhance the overall viewing experience.
