A permanent Minecraft World theme park is scheduled to open in Greater London in 2027.

The park will be a new section within Chessington World of Adventures and represents a physical expansion of the best-selling video game into real-world entertainment.

The theme park will include a roller coaster, interactive adventures, and “epic block-built playscapes.” It is being developed in collaboration between Mojang Studios and Merlin Entertainments, the world’s second-largest theme park operator.

Torfi Frans Ólafsson, creative director for the game franchise, said Mojang is aiming for “an experience that feels immersive, authentic and welcoming.” The park will also feature Minecraft-themed retail and dining options.

In addition to the theme park, a new pop-up event, Minecraft Experience: Moonlight Trail, will open in Buenos Aires, Argentina, in May. This hour-long outdoor nighttime adventure will allow visitors to craft gear, mine diamonds, and battle mobs along a moonlit trail.

Mojang Studios also announced several updates for the Minecraft game itself during Minecraft Live 2026. The “Tiny Takeover” update, arriving March 24, will feature a redesigned “cuter” look for baby mobs and introduce a golden dandelion item.

Later this year, the “Chaos Cubed” update will add a sulfur cube that changes properties based on absorbed materials. Mojang stated the cube will offer varied physical behaviors.

Mojang confirmed “Minecraft Dungeons II,” a sequel to the 2020 spinoff game. Further details are limited, but wishlisting will be available as of March 21.
