The vivo X300 Ultra made an early appearance at MWC 2026 in Barcelona, demonstrated with a large external teleconverter attachment. The teleconverter provides a 400 mm equivalent focal length, which translates to approximately 17.3X optical zoom. Sensor cropping can extend the zoom range to around 800 mm equivalent.

The add-on optics represent a significant expansion of the phone’s hardware ecosystem, allowing for optical zoom capabilities usually reserved for dedicated cameras. This approach attempts to bridge the gap between smartphone portability and professional camera versatility.

Alongside the lens, vivo displayed a new camera rig accessory. The rig includes a snap-on cooling fan, a side handle grip, and a cold shoe mount for external lighting or microphones. The setup is designed to stabilize the device and manage thermal load during extended video recording.

The internal camera system is expected to feature a 200 MP Sony LYT-901 main sensor. The telephoto camera is expected to be a 200 MP Samsung HPB sensor at 85 mm equivalent. The ultra-wide camera is expected to use a 50 MP Sony LYT-828 sensor.

The device is expected to feature a 6.82-inch LTPO OLED display. It is anticipated to run on the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor. Battery capacity is expected to be 7,000 mAh with 100W wired and 40W wireless charging.

vivo X300 Ultra is expected to launch in China later in March 2026. A global launch is expected around April or May 2026. The device will likely run Android 16 with OriginOS 6.
