Honor launched the Magic V6 foldable phone ahead of the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. The device measures 4mm thick when unfolded and 8.75mm thick when folded, making it thinner than the previous Magic V5 model. It features a 6,600 mAh battery, an upgrade from the 5,820 mAh battery in the previous model.

The new phone targets consumers seeking improved battery life and durability in the competitive foldable market. Honor stated the device supports 80W wired charging and 66W wireless charging. The company demonstrated new Silicon-carbon battery technology that could enable foldable phone batteries to exceed 7,000 mAh.

The Magic V6 has a 7.95-inch main AMOLED display and a 6.52-inch cover display. Both screens support LTPO 2.0 technology with 1-120Hz variable refresh rates. The external screen features an anti-reflective coating with a reflectivity rating of 1.5%.

Honor introduced a new Super Steel Hinge with a tensile strength of 2,800 MPa. The company said this reduces the display crease depth by 44%. The device is powered by a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage.

The camera system includes a triple rear setup with a 50MP main lens, a 64MP telephoto lens, and a 50MP ultrawide lens. Dual 20MP front cameras handle selfies and video calls. The phone offers compatibility with Apple devices, including two-way notification sync with iPhones and one-tap file sharing with Macs.

Honor did not specify pricing for the device. The Magic V6 is scheduled for release in select international markets in the second half of the year.
