The information presented in the video by Moore’s Law is Dead suggests that the forthcoming PlayStation 6 console will possess approximately three times the 3D rendering capability of the current PlayStation 5. This substantial increase in processing power is reportedly intended to be offered at the same launch price as its predecessor, $499. The leak also indicates a continuation of backward compatibility, with the PlayStation 6 expected to support both PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 game titles. The projected release window for this console is no earlier than fall 2027.
In addition to the console details, the leak outlines Sony’s purported plans to introduce a new gaming handheld device concurrently with the PlayStation 6. This handheld is described as featuring a touch screen for user interaction, integrated microphones, an SSD slot for expandable storage, and haptic vibration technology for tactile feedback. The reported target price range for this new handheld device is between $400 and $500. This pricing strategy would position the device to compete directly within the portable gaming market segment.
