Leaked renders of the Google Pixel 9A suggest that the smartphone will feature a minimal camera bump while offering significant upgrades in specifications. The official announcement is set for March 19, followed by a release on March 26.

Google Pixel 9A features minimal camera bump: Launches March 26

The leaked images, published by Android Headlines, showcase the Pixel 9A in four colors: Obsidian (black), Porcelain (white), Peony (pink), and Iris (purple). Unlike previous models, the Pixel 9A is designed to be flatter, with only a slight camera bump visible from the side.

The dimensions of the Pixel 9A are reported to be 154 x 73 x 8.9mm. It will house a 48-megapixel main camera, a reduction from the 64-megapixel sensor in the Pixel 8A, alongside a 13-megapixel ultrawide camera and a 13-megapixel front-facing camera. The phone is equipped with a 5,100mAh battery, an increase from the 4,492mAh battery of its predecessor, marking the Pixel 9A as having the largest battery ever in a Pixel phone. Charging speeds are maintained at 23W wired and 7.5W wireless.

The Pixel 9A is expected to include a 6.3-inch display with a 120Hz refresh rate, powered by a Tensor G4 chip and 8GB of RAM. Storage options will include a maximum of 256GB.

Pricing and availability

The base model of the Pixel 9A, with 128GB of storage, will be priced at $499, while the 256GB variant will cost $599. Pre-orders for the device will open on March 19, coinciding with the official announcement. This pricing positions the Pixel 9A as a competitive option in the budget smartphone market, especially against the anticipated release of Apple’s fourth iPhone SE.

Model numbers for each color variant include the following for the UK market: Pixel 9A (Iris): GA09564-GB (128GB), GA09585-GB (256GB); Pixel 9A (Obsidian): GA05769-GB (128GB), GA09566-GB (256GB); Pixel 9A (Peony): GA09565-GB (128GB); Pixel 9A (Porcelain): GA09563-GB (128GB). The model numbers may differ slightly for the North American market.
