Spotify is expanding its AI-powered DJ feature, making it available to Premium subscribers in several new countries. The rollout includes Austria, Brazil, France, Germany, Italy, Portugal, South Korea, Switzerland, and additional markets, bringing the total number of countries where the DJ feature is accessible to more than 75, up from 50 as of August 2023.
As part of this expansion, Spotify is introducing four new language options for the DJ: French, German, Italian, and Brazilian Portuguese. Each language will have a unique voice to enhance user experience.
The DJ function enriches listeners’ experiences by analyzing their listening history to create personalized selections, featuring current favorites as well as new releases. Users can request the DJ to create a customized radio station based on specific artists, genres, moods, or activities.
Beyond simple playlist creation, the DJ leverages generative AI to provide commentary throughout the listening experience, offering context about the music being played.
