Adobe is updating its Firefly AI assistant and integrating it into Premiere, Illustrator, InDesign, and Frame.io. The updated assistant can create brand kits, product videos, and storyboards, with users able to save creations as reusable elements within the Firefly app.
In Premiere, the AI can sort assets into bins, batch-rename clips, identify interview questions, and add markers. In Illustrator, the assistant can reorganize layers and check for missing fonts. Firefly is already compatible with Express, Photoshop, and Acrobat, and is supported by ChatGPT, Claude, and Copilot.
Adobe plans to add support for Google Gemini and Slack in the near future. The company is evolving Firefly to resemble Canva by enhancing AI tools for generating images, videos, and storyboards.
A new feature named Elements will allow users to save AI-generated characters, objects, and locations for future projects. Additionally, Firefly will include a Projects feature that stores and shares existing assets, which may benefit teams working on video series or brand campaigns. Both the Elements and Projects features are currently in private beta.
Users can describe a brand or upload collateral in Firefly to generate a brand kit that includes logos and color palettes, or create product videos from photos. Adobe is also focused on developing an AI assistant that automates tasks across its applications, streamlining processes that previously required multiple steps.
