Anthropic has announced a significant increase in the rate limits for its Claude Code service, doubling the previous restrictions for paid subscribers. This expansion aims to enhance the usage experience for customers on Pro, Max, Team, and seat-based Enterprise plans.
Previously, subscribers were subject to a five-hour rate limit, which is now being extended. Additionally, the company will eliminate peak hour limit reductions for Claude Code users on Pro and Max plans. Anthropic stated that these changes are intended to “improve the experience of using Claude for our most dedicated customers.”
The increase in rate limits follows a recent deal between Anthropic and SpaceX, which provides Anthropic access to xAI’s Colossus 1 data center. This partnership allows Anthropic to leverage the advanced computational capabilities of the massive data center.
xAI’s Colossus 1 data center boasts over 220,000 NVIDIA GPUs, including H100 and H200 models, as well as GB200 accelerators. This additional computational power enhances Anthropic’s ability to train its AI models and manage workloads more effectively.
The integration of these resources significantly benefits paid subscribers, allowing them to utilize Claude Code with greater efficiency and less restrictive limitations.
