Next, they choose the display size available for the model. Chip options follow, allowing selection of the processor type suited to performance needs. Memory capacity comes after, with choices for RAM amounts. Storage selections include various SSD sizes. Even the power adapter can be customized to match portability or power requirements.
Alongside hardware choices, the updated page provides options to pre-install professional applications. Buyers can add Final Cut Pro for video editing workflows or Logic Pro for music production setups directly during purchase. This streamlines setup for creative professionals relying on these tools.
The redesign of the configuration tool coincides with anticipation for upgraded MacBook Pro models. Rumors, as covered by MacWorld, indicate Apple plans to introduce M5 Pro and M5 Max chips. These chips would offer flexibility in CPU and GPU core counts, configurable by users at purchase.
Bloomberg‘s Mark Gurman reports that the next MacBook Pro models could launch alongside macOS 26.3. This operating system update follows a release cycle scheduled between February and March.
