Motorola announced the Razr Fold, its first side-foldable smartphone, at CES 2026 in Las Vegas to rival Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Google’s Pixel 10 Pro Fold.

The Razr Fold features a 6.6-inch external display and an 8.1-inch flexible main display. Motorola has not disclosed the device’s dimensions or thickness. Side-foldable designs differ from the top-folding mechanisms in traditional flip phones, marking Motorola’s entry into this category.

The smartphone supports the Moto Pen Ultra stylus. Samsung excluded stylus support from the Galaxy Z Fold 7. Foldable devices with large displays function similarly to tablets, enabling stylus use for tasks such as note-taking and drawing.

The camera system consists of a 50MP Sony main sensor, a 50MP ultra-wide and macro lens, and a 50MP telephoto lens on the rear. For selfies, it includes a 32MP external lens and a 20MP internal camera.

The Razr Fold records video in Dolby Vision format. Dolby Vision enhances video quality through high dynamic range and wide color gamut support. The device launches in blue and white color options.

Motorola has not released details on internal specifications, pricing, or availability dates. The company stated that “more specifications will be shared in the coming months.”

Motorola maintains a history of producing top-folding phones, originating with classic flip phones. The company refines this design in its mid-range Razr line of top-folding smartphones, which remains active alongside the new side-foldable model.

CES 2026 occurs in Las Vegas from January 4 to January 9. The show floor opens on Tuesday, following initial press conferences on Monday.
