Hyundai will hold its CES 2026 presentation on January 5 at 4 p.m. ET in Las Vegas, livestreamed on the HyundaiUSA or global Hyundai YouTube channels, to unveil the Holographic Windshield Display and Atlas robot alongside other technologies.

CES 2026 runs from January 6 to January 9 in Las Vegas. The event features reduced emphasis on new vehicles compared to previous years. The Trump administration’s removal of most electric vehicle incentives has contributed to this shift within the automotive industry. The Afeela electric vehicle, developed by the Sony-Honda joint venture, returns to the show floor. In-cabin car technologies remain prominent, with Hyundai’s offerings drawing attention.

Hyundai Mobis, the company’s subsidiary, plans to present more than 30 mobility convergence technologies during CES 2026. These encompass advancements in electronics, chassis system safety, augmented reality heads-up displays, low-power display solutions, and electric vehicle drive systems. The presentations highlight Hyundai’s ongoing developments in vehicle integration and safety features.

The centerpiece of Hyundai’s showcase is the Holographic Windshield Display. This system functions as a next-generation heads-up display that projects essential data from the vehicle’s dashboard onto the windshield. The projection minimizes driver distraction while avoiding obstruction of the forward view. Measuring 18.1 inches diagonally, the display expands vertically to cover a larger area. Passengers can view videos on it without the content being visible to the driver. Hyundai Mobis developed the technology in collaboration with Zeiss, the German optics specialist. The partnership produced the world’s first system utilizing holographic film. This film transforms the entire front windshield into an ultra-large display surface. Hyundai states mass production will commence in 2029, meaning commercial availability remains several years away.

Hyundai will also provide a first look at its new Atlas robot. The robot appears dog-like in teaser images from the press release. This design aligns with the origins of Boston Dynamics, acquired by Hyundai in 2020. The Atlas robot forms part of Hyundai’s AI Robotics Strategy. The company describes it in the press release as follows: “This next-generation Atlas represents a tangible step toward the commercialization of AI Robotics, highlighting the Group’s commitment to building safe and adaptable robotic co-workers.” The demonstration underscores Hyundai’s expansion into robotics beyond automotive applications.
