New AI and automation capabilities
The introduction of these AI features aligns with a growing trend of internal audit teams incorporating AI into their workflows. A report by the Internal Audit Foundation (“2025 North American Pulse of Internal Audit”) found that 40% of respondents are currently using generative AI, and 65% plan to increase their use of the technology. AuditBoard emphasizes that its platform maintains stringent security and privacy standards while enabling customers to automate repetitive tasks. The new AI-powered capabilities include:
- AI scoping memos: This tool automatically analyzes the scope of an audit and generates a structured memo, considering factors like risks, key processes, and worksteps. The goal is to ensure comprehensive coverage and consistency, with users retaining the ability to edit the generated document.
- AI cross-audit summaries: This feature uses AI to create executive-level summaries of multiple audits, consolidating context, findings, and trends into a single report. This is intended to save time, reduce manual effort, and provide clear, actionable insights.
