Google Earth has launched a flight simulator mode that is now accessible globally through web browsers. The announcement was made via a social media post.
This experimental feature allows users to virtually explore the skies. To access the flight simulator, users must navigate to the Tools menu within Google Earth after selecting Explore Earth.
In 2024, Google Earth introduced an option for users to view historical recreations of specific times and places, further enhancing its interactive offerings. An FAQ is available for new users to assist them with the flight simulation.

Google has cautioned that the flight simulator may experience performance issues, noting, “The flight simulator is designed for casual exploration rather than high-fidelity aerodynamic training.” Users are advised that this feature is intended more for recreational use than serious flight training.
