Halo Studios has officially opened pre-orders for Halo: Campaign Evolved, a full remake of the original Halo: Combat Evolved campaign. The game is set to launch on July 28, with Premium and Collector’s Edition buyers gaining up to five days of early access starting July 23.
The remake will be available across Xbox, PC, and PlayStation, marking one of the most notable multi-platform releases in the franchise’s history.
How to pre-order Halo: Campaign Evolved
Players can now pre-order the game through Xbox Store, Steam, and PlayStation Store. The Standard Edition is priced at $49.99 and includes the base campaign along with a new story expansion titled Operation: METEORITE.
The Premium Edition, priced at $69.99, adds early access and bonus cosmetic packs, while the Collector’s Edition at $199.99 includes physical collectibles such as a Master Chief statue, a light-up Cortana chip, a Steelbook case, and concept art prints. The Collector’s Edition is available exclusively through HaloWaypoint.
All pre-orders include the Foundry Armory Pack, which features a Classic Mark V armor skin and themed weapon cosmetics inspired by the original 2001 release.
A new prequel story expands the Halo universe
Every edition of the game includes Operation: METEORITE, a three-mission prequel set one year before the events of the original Halo campaign. The story follows Master Chief and Sgt. Johnson during a covert UNSC operation aboard a Covenant research vessel.
The narrative was developed in collaboration with sci-fi author Troy Denning and introduces new enemy types and mission scenarios, including space combat sequences shown in the reveal trailer.
The remake is built in Unreal Engine 5 and will support cross-play and cross-progression across all platforms. It will also launch day one on Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass, expanding access to subscribers.
With its simultaneous release on PlayStation for the first time in the franchise’s history, Halo: Campaign Evolved signals a broader shift in Microsoft’s approach to its core gaming franchises.
