Netflix will release its FIFA World Cup: Launch Edition game on June 11, offering a free experience to all subscribers. The game will allow users to control players from all 48 teams participating in the 2026 World Cup using smartphones. This title, part of a reimagined FIFA football simulation, was confirmed in December when the sports league announced Netflix as the official host for this year.
The FIFA World Cup: Launch Edition can be played solo or with up to four players in multiplayer mode. Netflix stated that the game “will evolve over time but gives the immediate rush of playing along during this historic World Cup event.”
In addition to Netflix’s offering, Football Manager 26 has incorporated licensed content for the tournament. It rolled out an initial patch for the World Cup last month, with another update planned for June before the real-world matches commence.
EA Sports has parted ways with FIFA regarding licensing but continues to engage with the World Cup theme in its products. The company has launched “The World’s Game update,” a free update available today for EA Sports FC 26 and EA Sports FC Mobile. This update features 53 fully licensed teams, including 41 that are competing in the actual World Cup this summer.
