The Instagram Plus subscription has been officially launched, providing users with tools to reach both wider and more-specific audiences. The global rollout of the Instagram Plus option follows Meta’s plans to introduce a subscription tier across several of its social media properties.
Key features of Instagram Plus include Story Spotlight, which prioritizes user profiles for friends, and Story Extend, which allows disappearing content to remain visible for 48 hours instead of the standard 24 hours. Subscribers can create multiple audience lists to select which group will see a specific story and have access to a tool that previews stories, provides statistics on story rewatch frequency, and enables searches for viewers of a story.
Additionally, users can choose to publish content directly to their profile or highlights to avoid it appearing in the main feed. Customization options include selecting from various app icons and choosing a specific font for their bios. Subscribers can also pin six items at the top of their profile and send animated super hearts in reaction to friends’ stories.
Meta announced that more capabilities will be added in the coming months. The subscription service, Instagram Plus, is priced at $3.99 per month.
