X has launched a new feature called “React with Video” that allows users to record video responses to pre-existing posts. The response video can be displayed in a split-screen format or superimposed over the original post, serving as an alternative to traditional reposting methods. A company spokesperson stated that the “React with Video” feature will be made accessible for Android and the web client in the near future. This response video capability is reminiscent of a popular feature on TikTok, which has been available since around 2021.
In addition to the new video response feature, X has introduced other enhancements, such as custom timelines and a tool that allows users to snooze specific topics for up to 24 hours. However, the platform has also discontinued features that did not gain traction, including the Communities feature.
Furthermore, X has implemented stricter limits for non-paying users, reducing free account allowances to 50 posts and 200 replies per day, a significant drop from the previous limit of 2,400 posts daily.
