Google is launching conversational features, branded as “Live,” in Gmail, Docs, and Keep, aimed at enhancing user interactions with its applications. Gmail Live enables users to ask questions in natural language, allowing them to retrieve information from their inbox without manual keyword searches. For example, users can inquire, “What’s my flight’s gate number?” to quickly find important details.
Docs Live allows users to verbally express their initial ideas for documents, which the system then organizes. With user permission, it can access information from Gmail and Drive to enrich the document with relevant notes and communications. Users can also request Docs Live to retrieve additional information from the internet if needed.

In Keep, the new features enable users to dictate reminders, which the platform will then structure and create prompts based on the dictated input. Google states that Keep will be able to understand and curate reminders relevant to users’ demands.
These AI features are set to roll out to Pro and Ultra subscribers during Summer 2023. Google Workspace business customers will have access to a preview of these features around the same time.
