Microsoft has initiated a rollout of new filters in an Xbox Insider update designed to help users organize their game libraries, making it easier to discern between purchased titles, shared games, and Game Pass offerings. This update aims to remind players of titles they have invested significant time in through Game Pass but may have overlooked.
The feature, which many users believe should have been available years ago, is part of a larger Xbox Insider update that also introduces a revamped boot-up sequence, complete with updated sound and animation. Additionally, tiered Gamerscore badges will be available to recognize dedicated players. Microsoft typically rolls out updates to Insiders gradually, with no confirmed timeline for when these features will be accessible to all Xbox users.
Users interested in the Xbox Insider program can sign up directly from their consoles, although they may encounter instability due to the incomplete nature of the software. Microsoft has not announced when these updates will reach the general Xbox player base, and historical patterns suggest it may take several months.
This update follows the recent leak of Forza Horizon 6, which is among the platform’s significant exclusives. Asha Sharma, the newly appointed CEO of Xbox, also announced a strategic shift away from Microsoft’s Copilot AI, indicating that while AI capabilities may be considered for the platform in the future, they will not be implemented at this time. Microsoft is similarly scaling back on Copilot AI in Windows 11.
