Apple confirmed that developers can now offer monthly subscriptions with a 12-month commitment on the App Store, allowing users to split annual fees into smaller, monthly payments.
This new feature provides a way for users to commit to a full term while having the flexibility to cancel at any time. Cancellations will prevent subscription renewals after users complete their agreed payments.
Apple emphasizes transparency by enabling users to view completed and remaining payments directly from their Apple Account. Additionally, the company will send email notifications and push alerts regarding upcoming renewals.
Developers can access this new subscription option through App Store Connect and test it in Xcode, though it is not yet live on the App Store.
The option will roll out globally for users with iOS 26.4 or later, with notable exceptions for those in the United States and Singapore. Apple has not disclosed the reasons for this exclusion or a timeline for availability in these regions.
