Ziff Davis sold its Connectivity division to Accenture for $1.2 billion in cash.
The transaction allows Ziff Davis to focus on core brands while giving Accenture network intelligence assets for AI services. Connectivity generated $231 million in revenue in 2025.
Ziff Davis bought Ookla, the parent of Speedtest, for $15 million in 2014. The division capitalized on the 5G rollout and pandemic-driven bandwidth demand to boost returns on that investment.
The deal is expected to take a few months to finalize. Ziff Davis will continue to operate Speedtest and Downdetector in the meantime.
Accenture is a global technology consulting company headquartered in Dublin. The company stated the acquisition is a step toward building “end-to-end network intelligence services essential for AI-based transformation.”
Ziff Davis recently consolidated brands, laying off some Eurogamer editors and its entire video team. The company also reduced VG247 to a two-person site.
